When The Police Legally Steal – Asset Forfeiture

Did the police arrest you because they liked your car? Maybe they did. Did you ever get your car back?

Police agencies can take your property under the guise of “Civil Asset Forfeiture” by simply suspecting that it was used during the commission of a criminal offense. They don’t even have to prove it.

With immoral incentives to harass citizens mixed with legal ones to outright steal goods, seems to be some good reason why people don’t trust, or even fear, the police. Also keep in mind that this video is misleading by implying that the police are here for public safety, they aren’t.
